A checklist, built over the years of ski-trip-arranging-experience…

For on the slopes

  • Ski-coat en ski-pants (duh)
  • Good gloves or mittens (for skiing, as you'll want them waterproof)
  • Thermal underwear (long legged/sleeved; this will make you really happy)
  • Ski-socks (4 pairs minimum; more is better)
  • Warm underclothing (like turtle-necks or fleeces)
  • Headwear (warm, preferably something that covers your ears too)
  • Scarf (long and warm, for cold days)
  • Ski-goggles (you want these for improve contrast on overcast days, and to cover your face on cold days)
  • Normal sunglasses (with good UV filter; not a cheap pair)
  • Backpack (not for beginning boarders, as it messes up your balance)
  • Suncream, and after-sun-lotion (you will burn horribly if it's sunny; we're high up and snow reflects UV almost completely)
  • Lip-balm (to protect from sun and cold)
  • Knee and/or wrist-protectors (highly recommended for beginning boarders or jumpers)
  • Ass-protector (highly recommended for beginning boarders or jumpers)
  • Possibly a helmet (for jumpers and fallers; mine usually turns out to be useful once or twice a year)
  • Inner-gloves (for if it's REALLY cold; depends on season and altitude)
  • Mouth-cap (for if it's REALLY cold; depends on season and altitude)
  • Ski's & ski-poles or board, and boots (duh)

For after the slopes

  • Solid shoes with a deep profile on the sole (for walking in snow and on ice)
  • Warm winter-clothes
  • Swimming-cloths (optional; for if you want to go to the local swimming-pool or sauna)
  • Towels (if you're not renting them)
  • Dish-drying-cloth (approximately 1 per 2 persons; often not present in the appartment)
  • Smoked-beef-sausages (Giel will bring the usual ridiculous amount)
  • Chargets for your phone/MP3-player/NDS/PSP/camera
  • Set of speakers per appartement with cable to connect to music-device

Other stuff

  • Pasport or ID-card (check your expiry-date!)
  • Pincard or creditcard (check expiry and that you can use it outside of NL)
  • Your travel-insurance card or papers
  • Photo or video-camera (+ tapes + charger + charger cable)
  • Cash (E.50) for your first deposit into the appartment-pot which is used for dinner and breakfast
  • Cash (E.?) to buy cheap cigarettes in Luxembourg
  • Sleeping-bag and/or pillowcase and/or sheets (unless you're renting bedlinnen)

For in the bus

  • Disguised alcohol (like wodka-orange-juice in a Fanta-bottle)
  • Sleeping-bag or warm coat (if you don't want to wake up freezing)
  • Neck-pillow (to add a little bit of comfort while sleeping)
  • Hooded sweater (perfect for use with a neck-pillow)
  • MP3 player (ideal to help fall asleep)
  • Sleeping-pills (really helps; Chris and Giel usually have The Good Stuff ™)
  • Sunglasses or sleep-mask (to not be bothered by passing streetlights while trying to sleep)
  • Earplugs (if you like them)
  • Nintendo DS (the more the better! multiplayer-gaming in the bus!)
  • Toilet-paper (a half one is fine, in case the toilets along the route have run out)
  • (e)Book
  • Food for the trip (don't expect a proper dinner)

I'll be bringing

  • Rope
  • Duct-tape
  • Sandwich-bags
  • Laptop (with capacity to store camera-footage if you fill your cameras)
  • Portable radios (4 Motorola's, a lot cheaper then using your phone)
  • Games (Carcassonne, Katan, Munckin)
  • Maybe my beamer and Wii (hopefully via someone's car)
